St. Paul's College 167th Anniversary Speech Day

St. Paul's College hosted its 167th Anniversary Speech Day in the College Hall on Wednesday, 21st November 2018. The ceremony was a memorable occasion for the Class of 2018 graduates and the prize-winners to celebrate their accomplishments and achievements with their fellow classmates, teachers and family members.

We were delighted to have Professor Paul K. H. Tam, JP Provost and Deputy Vice Chancellor, the University of Hong Kong, as the guest of honour to deliver a speech on this occasion, and his wife, Mrs. Amy Tam, present certificates to our proud graduates and worthy prize winners.

In his address to the Class of 2018, Professor Tam emphasised the importance of gratitude and a lifelong learning attitude. He reminded our graduates to thank their parents, teachers and all those who have helped and supported them throughout their academic journeys. Professor Tam also encouraged them to embrace lifelong learning as an essential life skill for success in their future careers.

The celebratory evening was made all the more special when two of our long-serving teachers, Mr. W.W. Mak and Ms L.N. Chan, came up onto the stage, one after another, to receive a plaque in appreciation of their 20 years of dedicated service to the College. They received rapturous applause from the whole congregation.

Following the blessing by the Bishop Emeritus Dr. Soo Yee Po, the ceremony concluded with the singing of the school song. We salute the graduates’ accomplishments and wish them a bright future.
