Form One Parents' Evening

The Form One Parents’ Evening was successfully held last Friday, 27 September 2019.

The evening gathering began with the parents meeting the form teachers, who provided them with information about their sons’ classes and answered their queries.

After the meeting, the parents were formally welcomed by the Principal Mr Dennis Yuen in the school hall. Two of the Vice Principals then introduced the College to our new parents, with Mrs Y.H. Chung focussing on general students’ affairs and Mr K.H. Yuen, on our F.1 curriculum and the school fee remission scheme. Assistant Vice-Principal Mr C.L. Wong later spoke on the comprehensive student support provided by the College through the collaborative work of the Discipline Team, the Guidance Team, the SENS Team, the Gifted Education Team, the school social workers and the education psychologist.

The meeting featured an introduction by Ms S.C. Yu, Head of Science, and Ms W.S. Wong, Head of Integrated Humanities, of the F.1 student-centred curriculum that aims to promote self-directed learning. The parents were also informed of the ALPS programme and the STEM education programme by the teachers-in-charge, Mr H.C.Wu and Mr P.Y. Chan respectively: the former helps junior form students build their own learning experience profiles while the latter helps develop students’ creativity and IT sills through innovation and technology.

The College greatly values cooperation and communication with the parents in providing a holistic education for our students. The Form One Parents’ Evening was definitely a promising start towards establishing strong collaboration with our parents.
