Nelson Kei (Class of 2016) wins United College Ming De Scholarship 2020

November 19, 2020 was a day of triple joy and celebration for Nelson Kei (Class of 2016).

First, on that day, Nelson was awarded first class honours in the bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutritional Sciences at the 88th Congregation for the Conferment of Bachelor’s Degrees at United College (UC), the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Second, Nelson had the honour of delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the UC Graduate Class of 2020 at the Congregation.

Third and most important of all, Nelson received the prestigious United College Ming De Scholarship at the graduation ceremony.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a final-year United College student who has demonstrated excellence in academics and leadership, and rendered outstanding services to the college and the community throughout his/ her studies at UC. According to the UC website, “the recipient will additionally be honoured with a public citation at the College’s Anniversary Ceremony and a permanent record of his/her accomplishments will be kept in the College archives.”

We extend our warm congratulations to Nelson on his remarkable achievements. We trust that our graduates will continue to thrive and excel beyond their school years at St. Paul’s College.
