Good News about our Scouts, 10th HK Group

10th Hong Kong Group Scouts won the Carlton Trophy

The Carlton Trophy is the competition of the highest honour organized by the Scout Association of Hong Kong. The competition demands excellence in scoutcraft and leadership as well as physical endurance and teamwork. The 10th Hong Kong Group beat over 400 teams and became overall champion of the Carlton Trophy.  The Trophy was presented by Mr. C Y Leung, the Chief Scout and the Chief Executive of the HKSAR during the Hong Kong Scout Rally on 4th November 2012 at the Hong Kong Stadium.

Scout Leader of the 10th Hong Kong Group awarded the Distinguished Service Cross

Mr. Ho Chuen Yan Robert, the Scout Leader of the 10th Hong Kong Group, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by Mr. C Y Leung, the Chief Scout and the Chief Executive of the HKSAR, during the Hong Kong Scout Rally on 4th November 2012 at Hong Kong Stadium.  The Good Service Award, the Dedicated Service Award, the Distinguished Service Medal and the Distinguished Service Cross are awarded to adult Members of the Association in recognition of their meritorious service to the Association over a substantial period. The Distinguished Service Cross is the highest award for merits for adult Members of the Association.

10th Hong Kong Group Scouts achieved the highest awards

Wong Edmund (5C), Shum Cheuk Hang Kevin (5C) and Tse Shing Ho Timson (4C) were awarded the "Chief Scout's Award" by the Chief Scout Mr. C Y Leung during the Hong Kong Scout Rally at Hong Kong Stadium on 4 November 2012.  Chief Scout’s Award is the highest award of the Scout Section of the Scout Association of Hong Kong. To achieve the "Chief Scout's Award", one has to satisfy the requirements in scoutcraft, adventure, culture, community, health, self-commitment, social services, leadership and proficiency badges.  It normally takes 3 to 4 years for a scout to complete all the requirements.  Edmund, Kevin and Timson are to be commended for making sterling effort to obtain such a prestigious award.

 

Our Rover Scout Mr. LEE Yat Sing Philip is selected as Scout of the Year 

The 10th Hong Kong Group Rover Scout Mr. Lee Yat Sing Philip (also the principal trainer of Carlton Trophy and Assistant Venture Scout Leader) was awarded the “Scout of the Year” by the Scout Association of Hong Kong during the Hong Kong Scout Rally at the Hong Kong Stadium on 4 November 2012.  Philip is the tenth “Scout of the Year” of the 10th Hong Kong Group since the scheme was held in 1987.  It is still a record for the 10th H.K.G. to have the most “Scout of the Year” among all Scout Groups in Hong Kong.  A list of the 10th H.K.G. “Scout of the Year” can be downloaded at the Group’s website www.10thhkg.org.
