Young SPC Pianist Won China Reginal Piano Competition
The Music Department is happy to announce that one of our piano scholars, Chu Kin Hang from 1E, came Third in the China Regional Piano Competition (Amateur class group B for 10-12 Years Old) at the 77th Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition China Final. The competition took place in Xiamen on 9th December 2013.
Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition has been held internationally for 77 years and the competition in China is held once in two years. Chu Kin Hang was among the 9 contestants that represented Hong Kong to compete with some of the best children pianists from 10 other regions in China this year. The total number of contestants is over 6000. This is the first time that Hong Kong's contestants won 7 top prizes in the same piano competition, with all First Prize winners of the amateur group competitions from HK.
