Visually Impaired Student Admitted to HKUST

We are proud to announce that Yu Yu Yeung Ian (6C), a visually impaired student, has been admitted by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to study in their undergraduate engineering program with an extended major in Artificial Intelligence.

To promote an inclusive school culture, St. Paul's College has accepted visually impaired students since 1970.

Ian joined the College after completing Form 2 at Ebenezer's School for the Visually Impaired. He suffers from a severe eye condition, having only 8% vision in his right eye and 4% vision in his left eye. This requires him to use aids such as a magnifying glass and a computer for his studies.

Despite his limited vision, Ian has achieved an outstanding result of 25 points in his best 5 subjects in the HKDSE examinations.

We are incredibly proud of Ian's achievement and wish him the very best in his future endeavors as he pursues his passion for technology and innovation at the university level.
