The new school year commenced with the Westminster tune resonating across the campus as both returning and new Paulines entered the school hall for the morning assembly.
Following a solemn flag-raising ceremony and the singing of the national anthem, Mr. Dennis Yuen, the College Principal, warmly welcomed the students. He emphasized the importance of embracing new challenges with a growth mindset.
Mr. Yuen presented three challenges to all Paulines:
1. Set Attainable, Ambitiuos Goals: He encouraged students to emulate the diligence, determination, and discipline of the national Olympic athletes who visited the College last Friday, urging them to set high yet achievable goals for the new year.
2. Commit to Sustainability: In line with one of this year's major themes—sustainability and environmental conservation—students were challenged to adopt sustainable habits.
3. Strive to Become True Gentlemen: The final challenge was a call for excellence in both academics and conduct, aiming to shape students into true gentlemen.
As per tradition, the assembly concluded with the spirited singing of the College Song, marking both the end of the gathering and the beginning of another stimulating year of learning for all Paulines.
