Empowering Tomorrow's Leaders: Continuing SPC Journey in Sustainability and Innovation in October

Our senior students, exploring advanced international curriculum, recently embarked on two exciting projects focused on sustainability and conservation!

Firstly, they participated in the "Future of Finance - Using Machine Learning for Smarter Investment" workshop series by HKU-SCF High School Student Work 2024. This workshop aimed to provide a solid understanding of research, modeling, forecasting, and data analytics. Led by our alumnus, Chan Chun Hei, King (class of 2019), and BASc (FinTech, HKU), the workshop highlighted how data and analytics influence the financial industry. Dr. Ting Hin Fung from the Department of Computer Science also gave a mini-lecture on sentiment analysis.

Moreover, our students took part in the "Planting Dutchman's Pipe x Birdwing Butterfly Urban Habitat Creation Project" by Kadoorie Farm Botanic Garden. This hands-on project focused on enhancing biodiversity and urban green spaces, promoting environmental conservation, and nurturing local ecosystems in the Central West district. Craig Williams, the Horticulture Manager, passionately emphasized the importance of practical learning through direct involvement.

We are proud of our students' dedication to sustainability and their efforts to shape a greener future. Let's applaud their commitment to a sustainable tomorrow!
