The Mathematics Department conducted an Olympiad Mathematics Training Tour to Singapore from 17 to 20 October 2024, for twenty four Form 2 to 5 students from the Mathematics Team. The tour focused on participating in training programs on Olympiad Mathematics held at Raffles Institution and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
The training program at Raffles Institution was led by Mr. Thomas Teo. Mathematics Team members collaborated with the Raffles Institution Mathematics Team, engaging in joint problem-solving sessions. This enriching experience not only strengthened our team’s skills but also broadened our perspectives.
Another highlight was the training program at the National University of Singapore (NUS), which included top math team members from various secondary schools in Singapore. Following the training, we had the honour of engaging with Prof. Leung Kin Hin, a distinguished alumnus of the College and a faculty member in the NUS Mathematics Department. We were pleased to have our alumni Mansell and Andrew guide us throughout the visit, providing invaluable mentorship and support. This collaboration with NUS offered our members a unique opportunity to interact with Singapore’s brightest young mathematicians, fostering camaraderie and intellectual growth.
