English Drama Club Celebrates a Year of Award-Winning Performances

The English Drama Club has shone brightly this year with remarkable achievements across multiple competitions.

In March, their original production A Traveller’s Odyssey - A Time-Travelling Tale earned multiple major awards at the Hong Kong School Drama Festival, including Outstanding Script, Outstanding Stage Effects, Outstanding Cooperation, and Overall Commendable Performance, with standout performances by Lau Tsz Hin (4C), Iu Wang Ching (3B), and Chu Kai Hang (2B) who won Outstanding Actor awards.

In the 17th English Radio Drama Competition, the team comprising Li Zhao Hua Andrew (5B), Shum Pak Shing (2B), Chan Chun San (2F), Chan Lai Yin Darren (1C), and Cheung Man Lung Carlos (1F) impressed judges with their production See Through Our Own Eyes, earning them a place in the competition’s semi-finals.

The Club also demonstrated its adaptability by performing a condensed 15-minute version of their original production at the Association of English Medium Secondary Schools Drama Fest in April. Students were recognised with the Outstanding Spoken English award. Chan Yat Nam (5B) stood out among the cast, receiving the Outstanding Performer award.

These accomplishments highlight our students’ exceptional talent in the performing arts, as well as their growing ability to express themselves powerfully in English beyond the classroom. The College takes pride in their accomplishments and looks forward to their future successes!
