General Meeting of the St. Paul's College Parent Teacher Association

The 26th General Meeting of the St. Paul's College Parent Teacher Association was successfully held in the school hall last Saturday.

The meeting was conducted by Ms C.Y. Fung, Chairperson of the SPCPTA. After she offered a warm welcome to the parents and teachers in attendance, Ms Fung gave a brief report on the activities and achievements of the PTA over the past academic year.

An important item of the meeting was the election of new committee members. The voting took place as soon as the candidates had respectively delivered their platforms.

As the ballots were being counted, the parents and the teachers listened to a talk on how parents can effectively cope with the issue of gaming addiction among their kids. The speaker was Mr. Ng Wing Kwong, Interpersonal Ministry Director from Breakthrough, a locally acclaimed Christian youth organisation. Mr. Ng pointed out that parents’ empathy and their understanding of adolescents’ attitudes towards gaming are the keys to helping their child overcome gaming addiction and develop self-discipline. His talk was well received by the audience, with parents eagerly participating in the Q&A session.

After the talk came the final announcement of the four newly elected committee members, which also marked the end of the meeting.

The College greatly appreciates the SPCPTA committee members and all parent volunteers for their dedication and hard work over the past school year. We look forward to another year of success with the PTA, as we strive to work in close partnership with our parents to ensure every student can make the most of their learning at St. Paul’s College.
