First day of school marked by i-Assembly streamed to Paulines

On the first day of school of this new academic year, there was a slight departure from, yet not a break with, tradition.

We still had morning assembly but it was not held in the school hall; instead, an i-Assembly was streamed to our students, who were staying at home observing social distancing.

During the online assembly, the College Song was sung by Mr. Raymond Fu, former Music Department Head, followed by a prayer said by the Reverend Lorraine Choi, from St. Stephen’s Church. Students were also asked to join in to say the Lord’s Prayer and the grace prayer (2 Corinthians 13:14) together. The assembly ended with a message from the Principal Mr. Dennis Yuen.

After offering a warm welcome to the new teachers and students, Mr. Yuen pointed out how students can make the most of their online learning through pre-lesson preparation and post-lesson revision. He also advised all Paulines to form the habit of excellence, make consistent improvements and not to under-estimate themselves.

A form teacher period was also held online today for students to meet their classmates and their form teachers.
